Zymology 21 is one of my favorite spots right now for drinks and bites. They have so many fun cocktails, a really great happy hour (3-8pm daily!), and some delicious dishes to pair with your drinks.

When our friends were in town recently, we took them here and they loved it.

Cotton Candy Cosmo

This was the drink I was most interested in trying. It’s meant for sharing and it can easily be enough for a few people. The cotton candy is made fresh and Jason, the manager, invited us to watch him make it.

Avocado Toast

For $3 during happy hour, this was a steal. It even came with a sous vide egg and generous helping of avocado.

Meniscus Mojito

Another drink meant for sharing, this was one of our favorites. Sweet, strong and minty.

Lobster Corn Dogs

During happy hour, these were $2 for 2 pieces. They were quite flavorful and we ended up ordering another round. We also enjoyed the bed of fried leaks accompanying them.

BLT Avocado Egg Salad

This was another favorite bite of ours and I plan on recreating it at home soon. Avocado slices, poached egg, tomatoes, bacon.

Beaker Mac n’ Cheese

Not only was the presentation cute, but the macaroni was creamy, cheesy with bacon inside.

Shrub Flight

I love ordering this one mainly for the presentation. The test tubes sit over dry ice and liquid fire is poured on top for a really fun effect. The flavored shrubs are always interesting to sample as well.

Boozy Popsicle

A boozy popsicle dropped in bubbly cava. I don’t remember what the popsicle flavor was that evening. I remember we didn’t really like it that much, but it’s a fun drink to try at least once.

Lychee cocktail

We also had the special lychee cocktail which was the premium offering during the happy hour time. This little drink packed quite a punch.

Overall, we had a good time here and we always have. We love coming during happy hour for bites and drinks and it’s definitely something unique to take friends to. We’ve been very fortunate that one of the managers, Jason, has been around during each of our visits. He is a bundle of energy and always makes the experience more fun.

You can read my initial post with more introduction to the restaurant here.
