Homemade Chocolate Crunch Bars


I had a lot of fun making 3 Ingredient Butterfingers. And it made me start thinking of other easy homemade versions of popular chocolate bar recipes.

Chocolate crunch bars are super, super easy. You only need 2 ingredients!

You can make these into minis or large bars. I decided to put them into my heart molds to make small ones. I got the molds on Amazon.

Mr. K really liked these. He ate nearly the whole batch by himself and liked them even better than the Nestle version.

Homemade Chocolate Crunch Bars

Ingredients:

1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup rice krispies

Directions:

Melt chocolate in a double boiler, or in microwave at 30 second intervals (stirring after each heat until chocolate is completely melted). Stir in rice krispies. Pour into chocolate molds. Make sure to rap the bottom of the mold onto hard surface several times. This will settle the chocolate surface and also eliminate air holes in the chocolate. Place in fridge about 1 hr until chocolate is hard again.

    When you say ‘rap’ does that mean bang against counter ?
    Also, what is the nestle version ? Using nestle chocolates ?

    • yes, rap is bang. And Nestle as in Nestle crunch bars. they are usually the most popular brand that makes chocolate crunch bars

  2. Do the rice krispies get soggy from being mixed into the hot, wet chocolate?

  3. Do you stick the molds into the fridge to harden, or harden in room temp?

  7. Do you have to leave them in fridge or can you wrap them and leave them out?

    • Hmm, good question. I always put homemade chocolate back in the fridge to solidify. I imagine it will eventually solidify at room temp also but it would take a lot longer.

  8. Are they milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips? Would a regular pot also work on the (electric) stove?

    • It really depends on how sweet you want your crunch bars to be. I personally prefer semisweet chocolate chips. A regular pot will likely burn the chocolate.

  9. Do you use bittersweet,milk or dark chocolate chips??
