This weekend we went back to Liberty Public Market to try out more food vendors including Wicked Maine Lobster. I’m determined to make my way through all the restaurants.
Now that the public market is fully up and running, it’s become quite busy! The crowds were a little overwhelming when we visited. We might have to wait for things to settle down before coming back.
I’ve known about Wicked Maine Lobster, but never had a chance to check our their food until now. There were so many delicious-sounding items on their menu including the lobster mac n cheese, crab roll and more, but I zeroed in on the classic Maine lobster roll.
Maine Lobster Roll
The price is listed as “market” and which translated to $16 that day. Definitely on the pricey side, but we went for it anyway.
Though there was a big crowd, we did not have to wait long for our roll. The roll was brimming with chilled lobster chunks coated in a light mayonnaise. I’ve had issues with the lack of lobster meat in many of the lobster rolls I’ve eaten in San Diego, but this one was quite satisfyingly stuffed with lobster meat. The roll it was served on was buttery, warm and toasted.
Overall, I was quite happy with this roll. Yes, it is a little pricey, but it’s a solid, classic Maine lobster roll and one of the best I’ve had in San Diego.
I wish we had sampled a few more items, but we had more stops to make. But the lobster roll was lovely, so we’ll definitely be coming back to try some other items.
You can view my first visit to Liberty Public Market here, which contains many photos of the market and food visits to Paraná Empanadas, WestBean Coffee Roaster, Le Parfait Paris and Pasta Design.

The lobster roll looks delicious and chock full of meat, tbeway it should be, haha. I may wait until the crowds die down before visiting this place but it already seems that the market is quite packed and popular.
the market was super packed when we went but then it was the first official weekend it was open so that may have been why. hopefully it’ll calm down a little soon
