This Honey Garlic Salmon recipe is a quick, easy and delicious meal ready in about 30 minutes. Salmon fillets are pan seared and then glazed with a flavorful honey garlic sauce that is sweet, savory, and spicy.

I like making salmon recipes because they’re usually pretty quick and we love the flavor of the fish. It’s so rich you don’t have to do much – I usually just add a sauce.

So for this recipe, I made honey garlic salmon using one of my favorite easy sauces. It’s the same one I use for honey garlic chicken and honey garlic cauliflower.

It’s just so flavorful and goes well with everything. Recently, I made a modified version of the sauce to use as a glaze on salmon. It turned plain old salmon into something quite wonderful.

I was scraping off every last bit of sauce from my plate. I’ll definitely be making this more often! It’s great for weeknights because it’s so fast and easy.

Ingredients

  • Salmon filets
  • Olive oil
  • Honey
  • Minced garlic cloves
  • Onion powder
  • Low sodium soy sauce
  • Sriracha sauce or a few pinches of red pepper flakes
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

How to Make It

Sauce: Mix the honey, garlic, onion powder, soy sauce, and sriracha in a saucepan. Bring the pot to a simmer and mix until well combined.

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Place the salmon in the hot oil and cook them for a few minutes until it’s almost cooked.

Brush the honey garlic sauce on both sides of the salmon and cook the fillets for about one minute more on each side. This will caramelize the sauce.

You can brush more sauce on the salmon for serving. Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the top for garnish.

Side Dish Ideas

Vegetables: We like this dish with garlic broccoli or Parmesan roasted asparagus. It also goes well with roasted veggies like roasted cauliflower. It would also be great with smashed potatoes.

Bread: Try my easy butter rolls or Parmesan bread rolls.

Other sides: This honey garlic salmon is great with cooked rice, too. Or pair it with cauliflower rice to keep it low carb.

Leftovers

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container. I like to cut the cold salmon into pieces the next day and toss it with a salad for lunch.

This might be my best salmon recipe yet. It’s so easy, and that honey garlic sauce never disappoints. I hope you try it soon!

An easy meal ready in about 30 minutes. Salmon fillets are seared and then glazed with a sticky honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 (4-oz) salmon fillets I used skinless ones
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tbsp finely chopped parsley garnish, optional

sauce

  • 6 tbsp honey
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sriracha sauce

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, add honey, garlic, onion powder, soy sauce and sriracha. Bring to a gentle simmer and stir a few times until everything is mixed. Taste and adjust if needed. Otherwise, turn off heat and set aside.
  • Add oil to a large skillet or frying pan and bring to medium high heat. (If you want a nice sear on your salmon, I recommend using a cast iron skillet and pressing down on the fish while it is cooking in the oil.) Add in the salmon fillets once oil is hot, making sure they do not overlap. Cook salmon a few minutes on each side until salmon is almost completely cooked. You should be able to tell when the salmon is done because the flesh changes color.
  • Brush both sides of salmon fillets with a light layer of sauce. Cook fish about 40-60 seconds on each side over medium heat until sauce is sticky and caramelized on the fish. Brush an additional light layer of sauce on the fish before dishing out and serving. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired.

  1. This was easy to make and so delicious! I might go a different direction next time and put this sauce over ribs or pork chops. I also love that specialty ingredients aren’t needed, so anyone can make this at home!

  2. No more plain roasted salmon for me, this honey garlic salmon will definitely take it’s place!  It looks so flavorful and crowd-pleasing!
