2 Ingredient Apple Candy
This apple candy is full of apple flavor. It needs just 2 ingredients and no stove or oven are required to make them. The candy is soft, creamy and chewy.
This apple candy is easy to prepare and reminds me of apple caramels but is easier to make. The candies have a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
Ingredients
- Apple butter
- White chocolate chips
Apple butter: Apple butter is a concentrated apple spread made from slowly simmering apples. While you can make your own, you can also use store bought to save time. Make sure to use apple butter and not applesauce. Applesauce is too wet.
White chocolate chips: Make sure to use white chocolate chips and not white chocolate. White chocolate chips are usually labeled white baking chips. If you use real white chocolate, the candies will turn out too soft and won’t set.
How to Make Apple Candy
The white chocolate chips are melted until smooth. Mix in the apple butter in until it is evenly incorporated. Transfer the mixture to your prepared pan and place into the fridge until set.
Cut the candy with a sharp knife. You can also lightly grease the knife to make it easier to cut smooth pieces. If desired, you can also garnish the candies with coarse salt.
Expert Tips
- It’s important to use white baking chips and not geniune white chocolate. The high amount of cocoa butter in white chocolate causes the candy to be too soft.
- I used store bought apple butter but you can also make homemade apple butter.
- If you like Fall spices, use apple butter that includes Fall spices.

2 Ingredient Apple Candy
Ingredients
- 9 oz (256g) white baking chips, about 1 1/3 cups, see note
- 1/3 cup (87g) unsweetened apple butter, room temperature
Instructions
- Line an 8 x 4 inch loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal later. Grease the parchment paper with a neutral oil or a nonstick cooking spray.
- Add white chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 15-30 second increments, stirring in between with a spatula, until it’s completely smooth and melted. Alternatively, you can also melt the chocolate on the stove using the double boiler method.
- Stir in the room temperature apple butter with a spatula until the batter is smooth and uniform in color. It is important that the apple butter is brought to room temperature before using, otherwise it will cause the chocolate to seize.
- Pour mixture into the prepared loaf pan and spread in an even layer. Cover with plastic wrap (greased with non-stick spray) and freeze until firm, at least 1 hour.
- Once it is frozen solid, remove the pan from the freezer. Lift out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang and place it on a cutting board. Lightly grease a sharp knife with cooking oil spray. Cut into 1-inch squares. Garnish with coarse salt if desired.
- Serve immediately, or store them in an airtight container in the freezer until ready to eat.
Notes
- Because the candy is very sticky, it helps to grease the parchment paper and the knife to cut more easily.
- White chocolate chips note: Make sure to use white baking chips and not real white chocolate. Real white chocolate contains cocoa butter which causes the candies to be too soft. Also choose a brand of white chocolate chips that melt easily. Some generic and cheaper brands don't melt well. I used Nestle brand.
- I used Eden Foods apple butter.*
