The March edition of Trader Joe’s Fearless Flyer is centered around coffee. As a coffee lover, I couldn’t wait to try all the coffee flavored products they’d come up with. Here’s a few things I picked up to try:
Joe’s Dark Coffee Squares
This was one of my favorites from my haul of goodies. When I opened the bag, there was a burst of coffee flavor, like opening a fresh bag of coffee. Each coffee square has a creamy chocolate feel from the use of cocoa butter, but with a very strong coffee flavor. They are sweet and smooth and remind me of chocolate covered espresso beans without the bitterness.
Cold Brew Latte Dessert Bars
I was quite excited to try these. They are a little on the icy side, but that’s because the dominant ingredient is coffee. They still have a creaminess to them and are lightly sweetened. Best of all, each bar is just 70 calories and 7 grams of sugar.
Coffee Cocoa Batons
These rolled wafer cookies have a chocolate coffee cream filling. The coffee flavor is a little bit light especially compared to some of the other coffee items I tasted, but they were still enjoyable.
Coffee Flour
I haven’t yet tried this one but I plan on adding it into some baked goods.
Coffeecello Liqueur
This has a robust coffee flavor and is already pre-sweetened so it can be enjoyed by itself or with a little cream.
That’s it for now! I actually plan on making another trip soon as I want to go back for the Vietnamese coffee flavored caramels and caramel coffee flavored granola. Let me know if there are any other items you recommend!
Just bought another box today, and the iced latte bars aren’t even 70 calories each — just 40!
that’s even better! I wonder if they changed the recipe
I recommend trying their new Mocha Joe Joe’s! They have such a nice coffee flavor due to the fact that I think they added ground coffee beans into the cream. I brought them to work the other day and people loved them!
ooh, thanks for the rec!
The only thing I got was the Vietnamese coffee flavored caramels and they are crazy good! So buttery and smooth. The coffee hits you the moment you open the box.
thanks for the tip! I don’t know why I didn’t grab them the first time–they were right there on the shelf!
I’m excited to try the Coffeecello and the iced latte bars! The cocoa coffee batons are good. I bought a few to give as gifts during Christmas and kept one for myself, heh heheh
I liked the latte bars a lot! Might go get more.
Oh – I didn’t see the coffee cello when I was recently there. Must go back!
haha, good excuse to go back!
