3 Ingredient Biscuits

I just found my new go-to quickie biscuit recipe.

They taste just like old fashioned biscuits. You won’t believe they are just three ingredients.

I came across this recipe while reading this article on Buzzfeed for three ingredient recipes. I’ve tried other easy biscuit recipes before but they didn’t quite taste like regular biscuits. But these do.

These took less than 30 minutes to make, including kneading and baking time. All you need is self rising flour, shortening and milk.

I slightly overcooked mine because I added a honey butter glaze that made the tops brown a little too fast. I drizzled additional honey on them before serving.

These were amazing warm and straight out of the oven!

Servings: 8 biscuits

These easy biscuits take less than 30 minutes and taste just like old-fashioned biscuits.


  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • ¼ cup shortening
  • 2/3-3/4 cup milk


  • Preheat oven to 500°F and grease a baking sheet.
  • In a mixing bowl, cut in shortening until it’s incorporated with the flour. Add the milk a little at a time until a dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Knead the dough a few times and then roll it out to a thickness of ½”. Use a biscuit cutter or glass that’s been lightly flour to cut out the rounds. Place the biscuits on the baking sheet.
  • Bake the biscuits for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden.
