3 Ingredient Healthier Peanut Butter Fudge (No Refined Sugar, Dairy or Butter)
This healthier peanut butter fudge is so smooth and creamy. It only needs 3 ingredients and doesn’t contain any refined sugar, dairy or butter. You also don’t need to cook the fudge.

This fudge takes only a few minutes to prepare. No hovering over the stove and no candy thermometer needed. It is a dessert you can store in your fridge or freezer for whenever you need a creamy treat.
Ingredients
- Peanut butter
- Honey
- Coconut oil
Peanut butter: Make sure to use natural peanut butter with no added oils. I also recommend pouring out the oil layer on top rather than mixing it into the peanut butter so that the fudge sets better.
Honey: A little honey is used to sweeten the fudge.
Coconut oil: Coconut oil is added to the fudge to give the fudge its classic smooth and creamy fudge texture. You can use refined or unrefined coconut oil.
How to Make Healthier Peanut Butter Fudge
- The peanut butter, honey and melted coconut oil are mixed together.
- Transfer the mixture to your prepared loaf pan.
- Place into the fridge to set. Cut the fudge with a large sharp knife once it is set.
Texture
The fudge has a creamy, smooth texture like classic fudge. It is only mildy sweet and not as sweet as traditional fudge. The fudge does need to be kept in the fridge. If it is kept at room temperature, it will become too soft.
Expert Tips
- This is similar to a freezer fudge because it does need to be kept cold. If it is left out at room temperature for more than a few minutes, it will start to melt. I recommend keeping it in the fridge rather than the freezer though because you can eat it straight from the fridge but you will have to let it thaw a little if you keep it in the freezer.
- The fudge is not super sweet. You can add more honey if you prefer sweeter.
- Try to remove the excess oil that sits on top of natural peanut butter before using the peanut butter in the recipe. This will help the fudge set better. I also recommend using a brand of peanut butter that is very smooth and creamy. Some brands are naturally more gritty and will result in a less smooth texture for your fudge.

3 Ingredient Healthier Peanut Butter Fudge
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250g) unsweetened natural peanut butter with no added oils
- 3 tbsp (44ml) honey
- 1/4 cup (52g) melted coconut oil
Instructions
- Line an 8×4-inch baking loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving a little overhang for easy lifting.
- Drain off the excess oil on top of your peanut butter before using and measuring. This helps the fudge set properly and prevents separation. In a medium bowl, mix together the peanut butter, honey, and melted coconut oil until smooth.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and spread evenly across with a spatula.
- Refrigerate for about 3-4 hours, or until firm. For a faster set, place in the freezer for about 1 hour — just until solid. If freezing, you will need to let it thaw for a little bit before cutting.
- Once set, cut the fudge with a large sharp knife into approximate 1 inch squares and store in an airtight container in the fridge. The fudge cannot stay out at room temperature for more than a few minutes before it will start melting, so it should be kept in the fridge until right before serving. The fudge can be eaten straight out of the fridge (if you are storing in the freezer, you will need to wait a few minutes for it to thaw).
Notes
- Honey note: You can reduce the honey amount if you want these to have less sugar. You can likely use another liquid sweetener substitute.
- Coconut oil note: You can use refined or unrefined coconut oil. You can reduce the coconut oil by 1 tbsp but the fudge will melt faster.
- Peanut butter note: Make sure to use natural peanut butter with no added oils.
- I used Kirkland raw honey, Naturally More organic peanut butter* and Whole Foods coconut oil* to make this fudge.
