4 Ingredient Keto Waffles (No Dairy or Butter)
These waffles are low carb, low sugar, high protein and keto-friendly. The waffles only require 4 ingredients and you don’t need any dairy, milk, cream cheese, or butter to make them. You don’t even need a mixer to make the batter. The batter is ready in minutes.

These easy homemade keto waffles are so easy to prepare. Whisk and stir your four ingredients and then the batter is ready to be cooked in a waffle maker. You can make large waffles or small individual ones.
Ingredients
- Almond flour
- Baking powder
- Keto maple flavored syrup
- Eggs
Almond flour: This recipe works best with superfine almond flour which is most similar to the texture of flour. Regular almond flour will make the waffles taste more gritty.
Baking powder: Baking powder is needed to help the waffles rise and be fluffy.
Keto maple flavored syrup: Sugar free maple flavored syrup is used to lightly sweeten the waffles.
Eggs: Eggs give the waffles their structure.
How to Make Keto Waffles
- The eggs and syrup are whisked together. The almond flour and baking powder are then stirred in using a spatula. Grease and heat your waffle iron.
- Once preheated, pour batter into your waffle iron. The amount of batter needed will vary depending on your waffle iron. For individual waffles (about 3.5 inches wide), you’ll need about 3-4 tablespoons of batter per waffle. Cook the waffles until deep golden brown on the surface and cooked through.
- Allow waffles to cool slightly before eating. You can serve the waffles with butter, syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or other toppings of your choice.
Expert Tips
- The waffles cook up thicker and fluffier with a regular large waffle maker, however you can also make them as individual mini waffles with a mini waffle maker.
- Don’t leave out the baking powder. It makes the waffles light and fluffy.
- The waffles are lightly sweet on their own so you can eat them without more syrup if desired.

4 Ingredient Keto Waffles
Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup (2fl oz/59ml) sugar-free keto maple syrup
- 1 cup (110g) superfine blanched almond flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and keto maple syrup until evenly combined.
- Add the almond flour and baking powder. Mix until no dry spots remain and an even batter forms.
- Preheat a waffle maker according to the manufacturer's instructions. Lightly grease the waffle maker with cooking spray.
- Pour some batter into the center of the waffle maker and spread gently if needed. The amount of batter needed will vary depending on the size of your waffle maker. If using a mini waffle maker then you will need between 3-4 tbsp of batter per waffle. Close the lid and cook for 2-4 minutes, or until the waffle is golden brown on the outside and cooked through. The waffle should also release easily from the iron when it is done cooking. Remove the waffle and repeat with the rest of the batter.
- Let waffles cool slightly, but they are best enjoyed warm. You can serve the waffles with your favorite waffle toppings like butter, additional keto maple syrup, berries, and whipped cream. Store any uneaten waffles in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.
Notes
- Make sure to use superfine almond flour and not regular almond flour. I used Kirkland superfine almond flour.
- Any sugar-free maple flavored syrup using a sugar substitute should work. I used ChocZero Maple Syrup.*
- The number of waffles will vary depending on the size of your waffle iron. I used a Dash mini waffle maker* which makes waffles around 3.5 inches wide and the was able to make eight of them. Estimated nutrition is for one waffle assuming the recipe makes 8.

I looked at Amazon for keto maple syrup so no sugar but the comments are not good it says the maple syrup is watery. Â
The ChocZero syrup we use is not watery. There are some brands that are more watery.
