I'm not sure why, but the other day Thai Pepper Cuisine came to my mind. My previous post on Thai Pepper can be found here. I haven't been back to Thai Pepper Cuisine since shortly after its opening when I got food to go.  This time I decided to dine in.

The menu is pretty extensive, unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to take a picture.  After we had decided on our dishes and ordered, the lady taking our order recommended the specials to us.  So we switched around some of our orders to include the specials.

The quantities were very generous and we ended up with too much food.  Everything was really good though and the service was great.  Our hostess kept thanking us for coming.

We ordered a pad thai:

There was a lot of fried tofu and chicken.  I thought the sauce was just the right amount of sweet and tangy.

Pad see ew:

The beef was tender.  The noodles nice and chewy and not overcooked.  The dish had a good, flavorful amount of oyster sauce without being too salty.

Drunken fish:

This was one of the specials of the night.  The fish fillets were lightly pan fried, and had a sweet and tangy sauce.  I believe I tasted tamarind in the sauce.

Thai Pepper basket:

The items in the basket were good. Lots of shrimp, chicken, bamboo, peppers.  The sauce was sweet and spicy.  The basket was crispy.

Panang curry:

The curry had a lot of string beans, chicken and peppers.  Sometimes I order this dish at other thai places and its mainly just curry sauce and no substance.  Boyfriend thought this dish was too spicy.  It was a bit spicier than the other dishes, but I liked it.

Pineapple fried rice with seafood

I think next time when I order this, it'll be without seafood and with beef instead.  The seafood costs about $2 more.  They added shrimp and squid.  I liked the shrimp but the squid was overcooked.  I also would have liked it to have a bit more spice.

  1. Aww =( You should check this place out with the Mister while your kitchen is under renovation. It’s kind of near the Convoy area. Slightly past Convoy.

  2. I actually heard about this place from Kirk. I really enjoy the food and the prices and I like how they have lots of seating.

  3. Hm, I haven’t explored the menu at Thai Pepper too much, so I don’t have any suggestions right now. There were a couple non sweet dishes I was going to try, but then I changed them to try the specials. The Thai Pepper basket isn’t that sweet, so you can try that.

  4. Everything looks so good! The Thai Pepper Basket is very interesting and looks really delicious. Sigh, I’ll go back to eating my Carl’s Jr. burger. 🙁

  5. Looks pretty good Kirbie! I never heard of this place but I like how they decorate the walls! 🙂

  6. That basket and curry looks so yummy. I’m not a big fan of thai food but your pics made me want to drive there and try these 2 items!
Is there a non-rice/noodle dish that you’d recommend that isn’t too sweet?
