Soft and chewy oatmeal cookies that are just 4 simple ingredients. These cookies don’t contain any flour, eggs or additional sugar, making them healthy enough to eat for breakfast or an afternoon snack.
I have been making a lot of oatmeal recipes lately. I just can’t seem to stop. My latest are these 4 ingredient flourless peanut butter oatmeal cookies. These cookies are similar to my 2 ingredient banana oatmeal cookies. While I love making those cookies, a few people found them to be a little too plain. This version adds more flavor and they have a chewier texture.
Ingredients
- Bananas
- Peanut Butter
- Rolled Oats
- Add-In of Your Choice (chocolate chips, dried cranberries or other dried fruit)
Bananas
You want very ripe or overripe bananas so that you can mash them down just like you would for banana bread.
Peanut Butter
Use creamy natural peanut butter with no added sugar. This peanut butter will be easier to stir and mix into the batter.
Add-Ins
As you can see from the photos, I used chocolate chips. But if you want to make them even healthier, I would use dried fruit like dried cranberries, blueberries or cherries. You should try to use something sweet because the cookies are not very sweet on their own since there is no added sugar.

- Flourless Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies
- 3 Ingredient No Bake Oatmeal Bars
- 2 Ingredient Banana Oatmeal Cookies
- No Bake Oatmeal Cookies
4 Ingredient Flourless Healthy Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (approximately 3 small bananas)
- 1/2 cup natural creamy peanut butter unsweetened
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or dried fruit
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 2 baking sheets with silicone baking mats or parchment paper.
- In a large bowl add bananas and peanut butter. Stir until evenly mixed. Add in oats. Stir until evenly combined.
- Add in chocolate chips or dried fruit. Stir until evenly combined.
- Using a 1 ½ tbsp cookie scoop, scoop cookie batter and place onto prepared cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Use the palm of your hand to press down and flatten cookie. Cookies will not spread during baking so shape the cookie batter to your desired cookie shape.
- Bake cookies about 10 minutes or until set. Let cookies cool completely before removing from baking sheets.
Notes
- Slightly adapted from The Big Man's World
- Make sure to thoroughly mash your bananas. You should not have any large chunks.
- If you want to make your cookies prettier, you can save half of the chocolate chips and place them on top of the cookie after it is flattened.
- I use a Nordic Ware aluminum baking sheet pan* to bake these cookies.

Love, love these cookies! I used Cranraisins, instead of chocolate chips. They were perfect for that Snack, whether healthy or not.
YUM! We’re glad you enjoyed these cookies!
How many cookies does this make?
This recipe should make 18 cookies!
Excellent recipes!! So happy to see you can send them to me by email!! Have a blessed day!
Thank you!! We’re glad you are loving the recipes!
I substituted 1c of the Kodiak protein pancake/waffle mix and made them into soft baked granola bars. We have made a batch about every 2 weeks now! Thanks for this recipe.
Thanks for sharing that adjustment! So glad it worked for you.
These are good but after eating the cookies I am used to they r pretty bland
These are definitely not like regular cookies with lots of added sugar. If that’s what you’re used to, it might take a little adjusting to get used to low sugar.
These cookies are so GOOD!! Only bad side is I could eat more of them than I should in one sitting. Thank you for this great recipe!
We have that problem, too! 🙂 So glad you love the recipe.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS WONDERFUL RECIPE!
You’re welcome!
Do you have recipes not involving peanut butter? I am allergic to peanuts.
You could try using natural almond butter or other nut butter. We also have quite a few other cookie recipes you might like that don’t have peanut butter.
Girl I am going to make these cookies tomorrow they look so good I am on my weight loss journey anything healthy is a plus I have osteoarthritis in my left hip my pelvic bone is deteriorating and I also have severe arthritis in my lower back but I exercise and it helps and I really limit my sweets girl I just love chocolate and peanut butter lol but I have to watch it because also I have diabetes too but these recipes will help me.thank you for sharing.

Yum
Very yummy! You don’t taste the peanut butter at all 🙂 I add raisins in mine and it’s delicious! Thank you 🙂
Love that you added raisins! Thanks for letting us know.
how long do these stay fresh for? and how do I store them?
We recommend storing them in the refrigerator. They should keep for a few days.
I made these quite a few times love them the last batch I made I used shredded coconut and dark chocolate bits ??
Those additions sound great! Glad you enjoyed this recipe!
Idk how I feel about these. They’re not bad but I’m not stoked by them either. Definitely worth trying though.
THEY ARE GREAT AND VERY FILLING! MADE MINE WITH DRIED CRANBERRIES, SULTANAS AND APRICOTS AND MY HUSBAND ENJOYS THEM IN HIS LUNCHBOX!
JUST WONDERING IF YOU CAN FREEZE THEM??
They should freeze fine! So glad you enjoyed the recipe.
These are amazing! I will màke these over and over. I added chocolate chips.
We’re glad you enjoyed the cookies!
Is there another fruit or thickener you can substitute for bananas? I have a latex allergy and cannot eat bananas or kiwi; no Reese’s products (peanut butter nor candies) nor instant pudding mixes. They trigger a latex reaction as an asthma attack. I like the simplicity of the recipe and would like to try it. Caution has to prevail though.
We have a similar recipe you might like : Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies.
Thanks for sharing
I am in the process of a move but can’t wait to try this healthy recipe when I get into my own kitchen. Thanks so much! Nita Norris
We hope you enjoy it!
I used sunbutter instead of peanut butter (because of an allergy) and they were absolutely spectacular. Incredibly quick and easy to make. Perfect healthy snack. Best oatmeal cookie recipe I’ve found.
Thanks for letting us know! We’re glad it worked with that substitute.
A miraculous eye opener, to refreshing delights.
Cokokies are great, but found them bit sweet with that many choco chips. Would use raisins or more crasinins next time. They are nice and easy to make
Super yum! Thank you so much for the recipe!! I was almost expecting a hard cookie, but they just melt in your mouth! Nice and moist and chewy! Easy peasy!!!!
So glad you loved them!
My husband loves oatmeal cookies and replacing the flour makes these my favorite.
We’re happy you’re enjoying the recipe!
Can I use something other than bananas? I would love to try these with applesauce instead! Anyone? I do want to make them as is too.
You should try our Applesauce Oatmeal Cookies!
Easy to make. A little sweeter than I wanted (I even used bananas that were still a little green at the top. But I used mini chips and I think it gives more chocolate per bite. My family said more peanut butter, less chocolate. I’m owning that part, laughs. Will make again. Thanks ??
We’re glad they were a hit!
wow awesome I love to try these wit no sugar since I’m a ore diabetic thank you so much 10.stars
Thank you for all the recipes. Have a beautiful day ??
I cannot find the amount of ingredients to include in the recipe
Please see the recipe card at the end of the post before the comments section. All of the ingredient amounts and instructions are listed there.
I have a nut allergy so tried using Biscoffi spread. the flavour was great but they fell to pieces. any suggestions please.
Biscoff spread has sugar and flour in it, which is why it did not work. I would try sunflower seed butter.
I will try this recipe sounds really delicious and healthy is always a plus. Thank you
Hi, is there an alternative to peanut butter as my family have a nut allergy?
Thank you for the lovely recipes.
Can you have other nut butter? If so, you can sub almond butter or cashew butter. If not, another alternative is sunflower seed butter, but we have not tested it with the recipe.
Great ? ? ? ? ? ?
its a very nice recipe I’m just wondering if I could use some sweetener as well, I have a very sweet tooth
so has my grandson, but I don’t want to use sugar.
yes that should be fine
Thank you for your recipe have a good day this is additional nutritious alternative to abundant bananas in market which just get thrown in trash for cooking alternative
We hope you enjoy it!
I wonder if you could use a Air Frieder in cooking these
We haven’t tried cooking them in an air fryer – let us know if you do and how it works!
I was glad to see you can use applesauce as a substitute for bananas…I feel it is soo important to have healthy snacks like this made constantly…and have them sitting close by so when grandkids come over, they can grab one as they head out to play, and guest can enjoy them as well…plus, it’s so Great ! they are healthy, quick, and so easy to make. No messy kitchen to clean, Yayyy! Tip: It wasn’t mentioned but, Gluten Free Oatmeal is a must in my recipes.. I use Bob’s Red Mill
.
We’re so happy you are loving this recipe. Thanks for letting us know!
Just wondered if you could use frozen bananas?
We haven’t tried it, but you should thaw them first.
I am going to try them with applesauce
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
These are great, so easy to make. Not too sweet, hooray. I’ve added a tiny bit of vanilla extract also. Other great additions are shredded coconut, cranberries, pepitas, hemp seeds… just use your imagination. They freeze wonderfully.
Those additions sound great!
How do you store these cookies? Sealed container? Refrigerate? re-warm to eat?
Love the recipe….I added a little Nutella and candied ginger.
For storage, you should keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. We don’t recommend warming them up.
Has anyone tried making these into bars rather than shaping them into cookies?
These look delicious, but I am allergic to peanuts and tree nuts, is there a different substitute for the peanut butter?
Sunbutter is often used as a substitute but it will change the flavor of the cookies. We can’t say how it will work without trying it, so let us know if you do.
Sunbutter changes color after a day or so…I’ve made that way, take a green tinge on! Wouldn’t advise.
Thanks for sharing that!
I am so happy about these delicious healthy snacks, do you have any suggestions, what to do with all the white and brown sugar,, I have 10 pounds white sugar, and 3 pounds of brown?
We have lots of Cookie Recipes you can make to use them up!
What else can i use apart from oats?? Otherwise the recipe looks yummy
Sorry, we don’t have a substitute for oats.
Can you indicate in he recipes, if it’s ok for diabetics?
please consult a doctor or nutritionist regarding any dietary restrictions or concerns
Would the powdered Peanut Butter that your mix with water work well with your recipes??
Sorry, but we haven’t tested the recipe with powdered peanut butter.
Delicious! I appreciate that they are not very sweet. I did use quick cook oats because that’s all I had. Very easy to make. I will definitely make again. Thanks for the recipe.
So glad you liked the recipe!
These are sooooooo delicious! So easy to make and perfectly sweet. Instead of peanut butter I used homemade almond butter. I liked the soft texture and really easy to reheat!
I’m so glad you liked them!
Do you have any no bake oatmeal cookie recipes w/o peanut butter in the recipe? I have a nut allergy.
You can use sunflower seed butter as a substitute
I would not, green tinge, see my previous comment!
Thank you so very much for sharing the nutritional values for these delicious looking cookies!!! Can’t wait to try them .
You’re welcome! Hope you enjoy the recipe.
These were so easy and quick to make that I will surely do this often. Thank you for the ideas which will get us to eat less sugary “stuff” since everything seems to have an over abundance of sugar anyway. I did add dried cranberries and , for once, my husband thought they tasted great! Now he wants to try doing it himself. Yay!!
That’s great! Thank you for letting us know – happy you and your husband loved the recipe!
I don’t like peanut butter can you substitute it with something else?
You could try using another type of creamy natural nut butter like almond butter.
So good and easy to make, can’t stop eating them
That’s great! So glad to hear you love them.
Does the nutritional information include the chocolate chips?
yes
Can’t believe it DT u can bake cookies without flour, very impressive and nice receipe too
Thanks! Glad to hear you like the recipe!
I tried theses and put protein powder in and they taste AMAZING thank you so much I will look out for more of youd Recipes.
I’m so glad they worked out for you!
How much protein powder did you use & did you adjust the amount of the other ingredients?
I am impressed, easy and delicious, the kids love it too
I’m so happy to hear that!
Is there any alternative way to make these where one could leave out the banana? If so what could be tried?
you can replace banana with applesauce or pumpkin puree
Yummy and healthy (works fine with regular PB too- just stir longer)
Just sweet enough with the add ins. I used chopped mixed dried fruit and it was delicious.
Next time I might try other nut butters! Thanks!
I’m so glad you enjoyed!

Does it matter if the rolled oats are old fashioned or quick cooking? Which is better to use?
you want old fashioned and not quick cooking.
How do you suggest they are stored? Airtight container in the fridge? They are still quite moist in the centre once baked.
yes I store mine in the fridge
Excellent! I just added a bit of cinnamon into the batter, and Fleur de sel on top of each cookie prior to baking. I’m always looking for snacks to bring when I’m cycling, and this is my new go-to snack!
Thank you for the recipe.
?
I’m so glad you enjoyed!
I tried this recipe. Although it wasn’t as sweet as someone might think a cookie should be, it was very tasty. I made some for my vegan friend, with dark Chocolate chips. He thought they were spectacular!
I’m glad you liked the recipe!
Its delicious! I used almond batter instead of peanut butter and it tasted great! Just one question: how many grams is one cookie?
I’m glad you enjoyed. I don’t know how many grams one cookie is as I did not weigh each cookie
They were so delicious.. Thank you for the recipe..
I’m so glad you liked them!
Just made these last night. I have gluten free and vegan friends that I love to bless with goodies. Of course, I love my sweets and am always eager to have healthy indulgences myself.
I am super pleased with these cookies! I had 3 very VERY ripe bananas and I used almond butter (because that’s what I had on hand). Mixed well, added the rolled oats and chocolate chips. The batter was thick enough not to run, and soft enough to flatten with my fingers. I baked them for about 14 minutes since I had both lined cookie sheets in the oven and rotated them halfway through.
Texture is perfect and the flavor is delicious! Thank you for the recipe!
thank you for sharing your experience. I’m glad you enjoyed!
Turned out really well. Thanks for the recipe. Added some cinnamon and nutmeg powder as well. Loved the fact that it was super filling.
I’m so glad it worked out well for you!
These are very good but not sweet enough for my husband who has a sweet tooth. Do you know if adding a little stevia would work in this recipe? Thank you
Yes you can try adding some stevia.
I baked a very similar recipe recently that included 2-4 tablespoons of honey. The honey can be adjusted based on how sweet you want the finished cookies.
Whoa!!! Deelish! What a simple, healthy recipe. I made them with mini choc chips and they are to die for. Thanks so much!
I’m so glad you liked them!
Just made, and this is the first time I’ve ever made something from an online recipe…
They are wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
I am only saddened I had not known about them sooner!
Excellent!
I’m so glad you enjoyed!
These look terrific but I’m allergic to bananas. Is there a substitute I can use?
you can try with applesauce
Can the banana be replaced with something else?
you can try applesauce
Thank you! I can’t wait to try these.
hope you enjoy!
Very yummy! I did add a pinch of salt, 1 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon to the recipe just to add to the “sweetness” also it makes the house smell great. I understand that a 7 ingredient recipe just doesn’t have the same ring to it though! The kiddies in my house gobbled them up! Great recipe! Thank you.?
I’m so glad you liked them!
Have you tried this with anything besides peanut butter? Would almond butter work? Would like to adapt this for my daughter with allergies. Thanks!
almond butter should work
Any suggestions on what to use instead of peanut butter? Which is an allergen
you can try almond butter or cashew butter
I am definitely making the chocolate chip cookies. They look delicious. The recipe is simple, easy to follow plus healthy which is a bonus. Thank you so much. I love your website
I hope you enjoy!
Haven’t tried this one, but it looks great. My only comment is regarding your use of the term, BATTER ….more appropriate for cookies is dough….let’s save batter for cakes, etc
If you try the recipe you’ll see the “dough” is more like cake batter which is why I used the term batter so that people aren’t expecting a thick pliable dough.
I made them. Definitely a batter. Very good.
Thanks for sharing! So glad you liked them!
Can I skip the peanut butter due to peanuts allergy. What can I replace with?
try almond butter or cashew butter.
I used sunflower seed butter. Twas delish!
I’m glad you got it to work for you!
My son has a peanut and tree nut allergy, so cashew and almond are out. I bought soy nut butter for this recipe. I haven’t tried it yet, but the family likes the soy nut butter so much (on toast and bagels), I might have to go get more before I can try it in this recipe!
I hope it works out for you
Tehina!
