I have to confess, I’ve never had a desire to eat raw cookie dough. I’ve never wanted to sneak a taste while mixing up a batch of cookies. Even as a kid, I could patiently wait until the cookies were done and would much rather eat a warm, fully baked cookie.

But I’ve been wanting to try making an edible cookie dough recipe for a while. So I set about making one this weekend. I was pretty pleased with the result.

This really looked like ice cream when I was scooping it out.

It’s a bit too sweet for me to eat a lot of, but it tastes pretty good and it’s eggless. And it’s really fast and easy to make. It’s also a good base for cookie dough ice cream, cookie dough truffles, etc.

  1. Do you crush the Oreos with the cream on them?

  2. If I want to make this more spreadable sort of like a frosting, should I add more the condensed milk?

    • Hmm I’m not quite sure, but I would say probably a little more butter or a little less flour. I think more condensed milk will just make it too sticky

  3. how many cookies would this recipe make?

    • none! it’s meant to be eaten as cookie dough (which some people like eating) so there is no rising agent added and it’s not meant to be made into cookies.

  4. what if you dont have condensed milk

    • sorry, i don’t have any substitution for the condensed milk. perhaps you can wait until you buy a can to make it?

  5. I thought this was ice cream and I was amazed and then I realized it was cookie dough and words just cannot describe how even more amazed I am O_O

  6. Looks Y U M! Whole milk makes my stomach bubble so got to take my lactaid pill and get into this.

    • this recipe actually uses condensed milk, so make sure you use that and not regular whole milk. The condensed milk adds sugar and binds the dough together.
