Hanna’s Gourmet is a restaurant and catering company offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a display case of desserts.
After my group blogger lunch at Que Huong, we headed over to Hanna’s to get some desserts.
While we waited for our desserts, I browsed the breakfast menu and was really intrigued by the pancake options (carrot cake and red velvet flavored pancakes!). I’ll have to come back for brunch sometime.
CC and Cathy did the ordering, choosing almost one of every dessert that was available that day.
Lemon Blackberry Cake
The tiered individual sized cake was light and fluffy and not too sweet. It was one of my favorites of the ones we tried.
Persimmon Raspberry Parfait
This tasted mainly of raspberry. The persimmon part was just the puree on top. A little too sour for my taste.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse
This was really rich, creamy and packed a powerful peanut butter flavor. I like my peanut butter in small amounts so this was a little overwhelming for me, but if you love peanut butter, you’ll likely enjoy this.
Rosemary Apricot Shortbread Cookies
Most of the group found the piney rosemary herb flavor too strong. I love rosemary so I actually didn’t mind and it gave the cookie a little more of a savory element. The shortbread itself was buttery and crumbly, like a shortbread should be.
Berry Rum Cake
The cake was quite moist from the rum. While I could smell the rum, the flavor was actually very faint, making this a light and pleasing berry cake. Sometimes I find rum cakes to be a little too intense and bitter. I would have liked slightly more rum flavor in this cake though.
Overall, we had a good time here. We polished off most of the desserts and the staff was pretty nice and attentive. I’ll have to come back again for brunch.
