Herb & Wood recently launched a Sunday brunch menu. We really enjoyed our previous dinners at Herb & Wood and love brunching next door at their more casual Herb & Eatery, so I was quite excited when I found out about the brunch offering at Herb & Wood.
We were invited in to experience it out for ourselves.
The brunch menu offers elevated brunch classics ranging from Filet Mignon & Eggs to Dutch Baby Soufflé Pancake.
Dutch Baby Soufflé Pancake, Huckleberry, Lemon Curd, Vanilla Chantilly
We started our meal with their Dutch Baby Souffle Pancake. Unlike traditional Dutch Baby pancakes which collapse and have a much flatter appearance, this large pancake remained puffy. It’s served with huckleberry, lemon curd and vanilla chantilly.
The pancake was incredibly light and airy. I also appreciated that it wasn’t overly sweet. We really loved the texture and inhaled almost the entire pancake.
Crab Quiche, Roasted Red Onion, Herbs, Caviar, Everything Crust
This was my entree choice. I really enjoyed the crust which was flavored with a mix of herbs and spices. The briny flavor of the ikura paired well with the crab.
Jamon Iberico Benedict, English Muffin, Poached Eggs, Braised Kale, Smoked Tomato Hollandaise
This was Mr. K’s entree. The smoked tomato hollandaise was quite unique and we can never resist jamon iberico.
Overall, we enjoyed our brunch. It is a more elevated experience, from the menu to the service. While I still prefer their dinner, the brunch offering is a nice addition.
