These margarita flavored mug cakes can be cooked directly in margarita glasses, making them perfect for a party!
After making my champagne mug cakes, I kept looking at my margarita glass set and decided to try experimenting with making a margarita mug cake.
It took quite a few attempts, but I finally got a version with the right balance of ingredients. Margarita consists of three main ingredients: lime, tequila and triple sec. I didn’t have any triple sec on hand so I used a little liquid margarita mix which had triple sec in it.
The cake does taste like margarita, but the flavor is a little subtle since the drink itself is fairly plain. I’d recommending adding a dollop of frosting, whipping together some heavy cream and dry margarita powder mix, to really bring out the flavors in the cake.
