How good does this look?
Mocha is my favorite espresso beverage to order at a coffee shop. So I decided to turn it into a mug cake. I even decorated it with whipped cream and chocolate sauce so it looks just like the drink.
I love the fact that it’s a coffee flavored cake cooked in a coffee mug.
You can taste both the chocolate powder and the espresso in the drink. And the cake comes out nice and moist.

Mocha Mug Cake
- 4 tbsp all purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 5 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tsp espresso powder
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp milk
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- Mix all ingredients into an oversized mug. You can also split batter into two mugs to make two servings.
- Cook in microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes. If making two cups, cook each separately for about 1 min 10 seconds. Top with whipped cream and drizzle melted chocolate sauce.
