New McCafé Beverages

McDonald’s USA recently relaunched its line of McCafé beverages, introducing a new look and new café quality espresso drinks. Given my love for coffee, I was definitely curious and I am excited to have partnered with McDonald’s to share my experience.

The new line of espresso beverages are made with Rainforest Alliance Certified 100% Arabica beans. McDonald’s also introduced new coffee makers to its restaurants.

The new drinks include:

Caramel MacchiatoRich, dark-roast espresso served with whole or nonfat milk, mixed with sweet caramel syrup, and topped with ribbons of buttery caramel drizzle. Available hot or iced.

CappuccinoA warm, comforting coffee drink made with whole or nonfat steamed milk, bold espresso made from sustainably sourced beans, fluffy foam, and the choice of French Vanilla, caramel or hazelnut flavor.

AmericanoFreshly brewed with dark, rich espresso for a strong, bold flavor.

As you can see, the cups also have a new look. The hot and cold cups feature a brand new logo with gold accents that will change with the seasons.

I couldn’t resist trying at least one version of each of the drinks. I also wanted to try some of my previous old favorites. I had a lot of energy after this tasting!

At the front, you have the new iced Caramel Macchiato and an Iced Mocha. The middle row, from left to right, features the new hot Caramel Macchiato, the new Vanilla Cappuccino, and Pumpkin Spice Latte (back for limited time). The back row features Iced Mocha and the new Americano.

Of the new line, my favorite is the French Vanilla Cappuccino, with its fluffy foam. I can taste the difference and improvement in the coffee beans now used.

Mr. K’s favorite is the Iced Caramel Macchiato. I find caramel in general to be too sweet for me, so I couldn’t drink more than a few sips, but I do love how pretty the drink is. You can see the layers especially well with the iced version.

He liked it so much that he ordered a large version after our tasting.

I also enjoyed revisiting my old favorites. Iced Mocha was my previous go-to and I think it tastes better with the improved coffee. And of course I couldn’t resist getting the Pumpkin Spice Latte. It’s such a deal with the current prices.

For a limited time, McDonald’s is offering any small McCafé specialty beverage for just $2. This is a great chance to try one if you haven’t already. I’m excited that I can now get my hashbrowns and coffee at the same place instead of having to make multiple stops for breakfast.
