OH! Juice

I recently became a brand ambassador for OH! Juice after sampling their fresh pressed juices and really enjoying them.

They are a local San Diego business and their juices are available for delivery or for pick-up from the Hillcrest and Little Italy Farmerโ€™s markets. While Iโ€™ve never been particularly good at a full 3-day juice only diet, I do enjoy doing a cleanse consisting of mostly juices with some small salads mixed in.

I find myself doing a 1-day juice cleanse at least once a month (usually after a particularly heavy weekend of eating) to โ€œresetโ€ my body. Otherwise, after so many baked goods and eating out, I develop uncontrollable cravings for junk food. But after a cleanse, even a short one day one, I donโ€™t crave unhealthy foods as much and have the willpower to make smarter eating decisions. Of course, eventually that willpower goes away, and I start making bad choices for days on end, and then itโ€™s time for another reset.

Iโ€™ve tried about half a dozen pressed juice companies and so far OH! Juice has been my favorite. Here are a few reasons why:

1. Glass bottles. Most press juices Iโ€™ve had are sold in plastic bottles. But discovering that OH! Juice uses glass bottles was a moment of enlightenment. It makes so much more sense to be serving the juices in glass bottles. After all, the juices taste better and itโ€™s healthier.  Glass bottles unfortunately do cost a little more, but if you bring back your bottles, the company gives you a discount.

2. Nutritional content. It seems only natural that if youโ€™re drinking these juices for health, you want to know exactly what is in them, but itโ€™s been surprisingly hard for me to get the exact nutritional information from many companies selling pressed juices. So I was really happy when my OH! Juice pack came with a pamphlet which not only gives the nutritional breakdown, but also tells you exactly how many of each fruit and/or vegetable are going into each glass (i.e., 2 cucumbers, 1 bunch of kale, etc).

3. Taste. Of course, taste is important. I found all the six flavors offered in the classic cleanse pack to be enjoyable, though I especially like the nice melons and the maca milk. The maca milk is a cinnamon flavored shake that you are supposed to drink at the end of the day. It tastes so good! I had to double check the nutrition information because it seemed so sweet and luxurious, but it actually does not have that much sugar added.

Iโ€™ve been trying OH! Juice for two months now, and so far I am really enjoying it. If youโ€™re in San Diego and interested in trying them out, I recommend you visit them at the Hillcrest or Little Italy Farmerโ€™s markets on weekends because you can sample all the juices available before purchasing. There are also various purchase options. You can buy individual bottles, a 6-pack, a three day cleanse, etc.  For more information, you can visit their website.

*Please note, as stated above, I have partnered with OH! Juice to help spread the word about this local business. I was given complimentary juice packs but was not further compensated for this review. My opinions remain my own.
