Togo’s BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich

It seems every sandwich shop featured a pulled pork sandwich this summer. We were on a bit of a sandwich kick the last few weeks and one of our stops was to Togo’s to try their BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich.

I have a soft spot for Togo’s even though we don’t go often because there are no locations on our usual route. It was the first big sandwich chain when I was growing up and very popular. Eating their soft white bread brings back memories of my high school years.

Once inside, there were many signs advertising the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich.

After ordering the sandwich, the employee heated up the meat and began making our fresh sandwich. The warm pulled pork is topped with cole slaw and we opted for the white bread. We found the sandwich quite tasty. The pork meat was moist, the BBQ not too sweet or tangy, and the cole slaw a perfect compliment. There was ample amount of meat but without making the bread soggy. And it actually wasn’t too messy to eat if you kept the wrapper on.

Turkey Avocado

I also couldn’t resist ordering one of my favorites, the turkey avocado sandwich. I love the avocado piled on top of the roasted turkey breast. Ever since my East Coast friend reminded me how lucky we are to have fresh avocado toppings in California when he visited a few months ago, I’ve been extra appreciative of avocados.

I believe the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich is offered through the beginning of September, so if you are looking to try it, make sure you go soon.
