I’ve had this idea to make pretzel bread rolls filled with cheese and pepperoni, but I never got around to make it until now.
I love pretzel bread. I can’t get enough of it. I’ve been so happy to see more restaurants start to offer it, especially as a sandwich or burger bun.
I have to confess. I messed up a little. I was distracted and did the pretzel bread dough wrong. I’ve made the pretzel bread rolls before so I know the recipe works. I just screwed up and I didn’t have more time and patience to make a new batch so I used some premade pretzel bread rolls for these. These pretzel rolls are bigger than the ones I wanted to use to make my recipe, but they still taste good.
Smaller versions of these are perfect for a party appetizer.

Thanks for the link. Next time, try stuffing the cheese and pepperoni inside the roll when forming and bake it right in there. I’ve never tried it but see no reason why it won’t work. You can get more in there too. Sounds pretty delicious to me.
Ha. I was just telling CanineCologne last weekend about my latest lazy meal obsession- pizza rolls. I use frozen bread dough, risen, rolled out, filled with pepperoni and cheese, then rolled like a jelly roll and baked. Your pretzel bread recipe sounds pretty easy though; must try it. I love the punch holes of pepperoni that are sold now.
Ooh, I’ve done those too. So easy and tastes delicious.
I have to say that i’m a huge fan of pretzel bread with hamburgers ! I think you should use this recipe to make a gourmet burger 🙂
I’ve done the hamburgers at home with pretzel buns actually. I just didn’t ever post on them. Heh
