Strawberry Champagne and Fourth of July Round-Up
I have one more cocktail idea to share for Fourth of July, which received two thumbs up from Mr. K. I plan on getting back into the kitchen soon for some real cooking and baking recipes, but my mind has been full of different cocktail ideas for the upcoming holiday.
I also wanted to share a round-up of desserts and drinks I’ve made in the past for those who are still searching for inspiration of something to make for July 4th. I’m just so excited to have the day off. Tomorrow’s work day is going to feel extra long.
You always here that strawberries and champagne are a good combination. I’m pretty sure the first time I heard of it was in the movie Pretty Woman. I’ve eaten strawberries while drinking champagne and I’ve never really thought they make that memorable of a combination. However, blending strawberries into champagne is a whole different matter.
Not only do you have a festive looking drink, but it tastes refreshing and sweet. I would drink this over a mimosa any day.
Here are some more ideas for Fourth of July:
Strawberry Tiramisu (you can even add a layer of blueberries to make it more festive)
1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries
6 oz champagne of your choice
2 tbsp or more of sugar to taste
Blend frozen berries, champagne and sugar until smooth. You may need to let strawberries thaw out slightly to work in the blender. Pour into glasses. Garnish with strawberries or blueberries.
