Mariscos El Pescador used to be one of our favorite Mexican food trucks. It’s been a few years since we’ve been, and recently when we visited, the lines were quite long. I heard they had gotten some media attention which has increased their popularity and now they even have a nice website too.
This is the complimentary broth. However, you have to ask for it, unlike many other Mexican Taco trucks that just give it to you automatically.
Even though this broth contained a few vegetables and other ingredients, it was weaker in flavor compared to Mariscos German.
Gobernador
I’ve always enjoyed the gobernador taco here and it didn’t disappoint. The sauteed shrimp were well seasoned and mixed with crunchy celery and peppers. There was a generous amount of shrimp in the taco as well.
Clamato Preparado
It was a very warm on the day we visited and I found myself craving a clamato, even though I’d never had one until this visit. It’s a mix of tomato juice, spices and clam juice, which is served over ice. This salty and sour combination really hit the spot. The outside rim is lined with a sour, salty and spicy chili mix, like the kind often used to coat Mexican candies.
Inside there were plenty of shrimp, octopus and a few preserved plums.
Overall, we had a solid experience here. However, the long line and wait for food made our visit slightly less positive. If you don’t know any Spanish, I do recommend you come with someone who does.

I haven’t been here in about 3 years. Their gobernador is so filling! The last time I went, they ran out of consomme and it was only 12:45 in the afternoon.
wow, I cant believe they ran out so early!
Hey Kirbie – I might have just missed you. Dropped by two weekends ago. I got tired of hipster tacos.
Hi Kirk! I know what you mean.
