The last time some of our friends came to visit for a San Diego beer crawl, we found ourselves at Lolita’s taco shop again.
This time, I was actually around to eat everything we ordered, without having to dash off after a couple of bites.
Shrimp Quesadillas
My friends really love the shrimp quesadilla here. I liked the peppery seasoning of the shrimp but I was surprised by the use shredded iceberg lettuce which I thought made the quesadillas quite watery. I would have enjoyed these a lot more if they didn’t use lettuce.
Carne Asada Fries
I still love the crispy fries and the plenitude of other ingredients in this entree. My one complaint is that I think their carne asada meat is too salty.
Carnitas Taco
Loved the large amount of carnitas and guacamole, though the meat was a bit dry.
We like visiting this taco shop when our friends come to town and they do make one of the better version of carne asada fries in San Diego. However, our personal go-to spots for fast food Mexican are still Super Sergio and Cotixan.

I like Super Sergio’s too although it does seem a bit sketchy. I want to be able to see things I eat that I get from there. And the hours are kind of weird too.
Lol, I never thought about it but that’s true. You can’t really see the food being made unlike most places.
Yay for a Lolita’s post! I always stop by when I visit SD. I have to agree that the meat is a bit on the salty side but I really enjoy the combination of the guacamole and fries.
I love that they put guac, but yeah I wish the meat was less salty. My favorite carne asada meat is Cotixan, but their carne asada fries is kind of sad; it only has cheese.
