Nutella Crunch Brownies

Nutella Crunch Brownies are rich and fudgy Nutella brownies topped with a rice cereal chocolate coating. This is a 4 ingredient brownie recipe that’s so easy to make.

The other day I thought of trying to make really intense Nutella brownies. And then I remembered these chocolate crunch brownies I previously made that include a layer of crispy rice cereal covered in chocolate.

So I used a ridiculously easy Nutella brownie recipe I previously made and decided to intensify it by adding a layer of crunchy rice covered in Nutella. These were amazing. Actually, the brownies were pretty amazing on their own and quite pretty. I almost didn’t want to cover them up.

But the crunchy, crispy chocolate topping really does take them over the top. They’re a fun twist on brownies and so easy to make.

4 Ingredient Crunch Brownies

  • Nutella – you will need some for the brownie and the topping.
  • Large eggs
  • All-purpose flour
  • Rice Krispies cereal – or other puffed rice cereal

How to Make Them

Whisk one cup of Nutella and the eggs in a large bowl. Add the flour and whisk until the batter is smooth.

Pour the brownie batter into a prepared pan and bake the brownies until a toothpick comes out clean, about 10 to 12 minutes at 350°F. When you check with the toothpick, there should be only a few moist crumbs.

To make the Nutella crunch topping, warm the rest of the Nutella in the microwave in a microwave-safe bowl so it’s easier to mix. Stir in the cereal to coat it evenly.

Spread the Nutella mixture over the top of the warm brownies. Let them cool before slicing and serving them.

Storage

You can store the cooled brownies in an airtight container at room temperature. They will keep well for two to three days.

You can’t have too much Nutella, right? I hope not because I’ve been eating a ton, and these Nutella crunch brownies are definitely one of our new favorite treats.

Ingredients

For the Brownies

  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 2 large eggs
  • 10 tbsp all purpose flour

For the Nutella Crunch

  • 2 cups of rice krispies
  • 1 1/2 cups Nutella

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Place the Nutella and eggs in a medium bowl and whisk until smooth and well blended. Add the flour and whisk until blended.
  • Pour batter into a 9 x 9 baking pan lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake about 10-12 minutes until a knife inserted comes out almost clean with just a few crumbs clinging.
  • While the brownies are baking, make the crunch. First microwave the nutella in a glass bowl for about 30 seconds to one minute to make it easier to mix. Add in the cereal and mix thoroughly until cereal is covered with nutella.
  • Once brownies are out of the oven, spread the crunch evenly on top of the brownies.
  • Let brownies cool completely and set before serving.

  1. Can you leave out the rice crispies and make just brownies?

  2. Oh wow, this sounds amazing! I’ve made Nutella Crack Pie and it was just out of this world so I’m assuming these brownies would be too. Here’s the link for the Nutella Crack Pie: https://nutellaloveaffair.blogspot.com/2011/03/weekend-in-kitchen-and-nutella-crack.html
