JRDN is one of my current favorite brunch spots with a beach view in San Diego. The restaurant is inside Tower 23 Hotel in Pacific Beach. Located right on the boardwalk, it’s a great spot for people watching and ocean views.

The restaurant is very spacious, perfect for large groups and families. It’s become our go-to place to take friends visiting. Here are some of our favorite things to order here:

JUMBO STICKY BUN

This is always a must-get for us. The sticky bun is enormous. The toppings on the bun change daily. Some of the chef’s creations we’ve tried include cheesecake and cookies and cream.  This one is topped with cinnamon toast cereal and chocolate syrup.

The sticky bun is very fluffy and soft and can easily feed four people.

SHORT RIB HASH

This is our favorite entree here. The braised short rib is very tender and flavorful, topped with crispy potatoes, two eggs any style, pico de gallo, pepper jack fondue, and crispy onions.

LOBSTER B.L.T.

I enjoy this entree too. The sandwich is filled generously with lobster mixed in tarragon aioli. It’s topped with bacon, butter lettuce, tomato. It’s served on slices of brioche bread and accompanied with a choice of garlic fries or salad.

CHILAQUILES + EGGS

My husband also enjoys the chilaquiles. It’s served with chorizo, guajillo chili salsa, queso fresco, pico de gallo, avocado, lime crema.

Overall, we’ve really enjoyed our visits at JRDN. The food does take a little time to come out, so it’s not a great spot if you’re pressed for time, but if you’re looking for a leisurely brunch with a great view, this is a good spot.

Tip: You can park at the hotel and have your ticket validated at the restaurant.
