Lately, we’ve had a lot of friends visiting, so we’ve been taking them to some of our favorite spots, like Lucha Libre.

I think anyone visiting San Diego needs to try the California burrito at least once, and Lucha makes one of best version in San Diego. We have yet to experience sitting in the Champion’s booth. You can reserve it online, but it only seats 4, so our groups have been too large to fit.

One of our favorite features of this place is the salsa bar, with its 9 varieties of salsa and sauces. Meals come with complimentary chips to use with the salsas.

TJ HOTDOG – All beef hotdog, wrapped in bacon. Topped with Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, and Grilled Onions & Bell Peppers

I was really curious about this one, but found it to be disappointing and overpriced. The bacon wasn’t crisp and the dog was salty. Nothing really stood out and I felt this is something you can easily recreate at home.

Surfin’ California – Grilled Steak, Shrimp, Fresh French Fries, Avocado, Pico De Gallo, Cheese, & Super Secret Chipotle Sauce

Our favorite item remains the Surfin’ California. The addition of shrimp to the classic California burrito really elevates it to a new level and we also love the creamy secret chipotle sauce.

Since this was a revisit, I didn’t take too many photos. For a more thorough review, check out my original post from earlier this year.
