Nordstrom Lunch

A few months ago, I had a girls’ lunch at Nordstrom Cafe in downtown San Diego with fellow food bloggers CC and Carol. These pictures got misplaced on my computer so I didn’t get a chance to share the lunch until now.

I enjoy dining at Nordstrom for lunch. Their grilled sandwiches and salads are pretty good, and even though you order at the register, once you choose your seats, you are given sit-down restaurant service, with a waiter bringing your food, refilling your water, etc.

Grilled Salmon Salad

This was my order and I liked that it was served with a giant Parmesan chip. I need to make my own soon.

Chinese Chicken Salad

This was CAB’s chinese chicken salad.

Cobb Salad

This was CC’s order. It was a salad kind of day for all of us.

Lemon Coconut Cake

The dessert display at the front always looks so tasty. We opted to try a coconut lemon cake. Unfortunately, the cake was way too lemony for us and we ended up not finishing this dessert. I’ve had good desserts here in the past, so it’s too bad this one didn’t work out.

One of the reasons we were meeting for lunch was so CC could give us the goodies she had got for us during her Canada trip. It was like Christmas, we got so much stuff! The stash included quite a few Canadian snacks (including a kinder egg she has to sneak in!) I especially loved the sushi tote which I will definitely use again.

Carol also gifted me with some homemade salted caramel sauce. It went really well with the ice cream I consumed this summer. Yum. It’s so nice to have lunch with fellow food bloggers.

  1. I remember when the US still had kit kat bites..and reeses poppables, so, so good.

  2. @sandy and @connie, and kirbie – the spam musubi bag was from marukai living (in the hawaiian food section). i bought all four of them.

had a fab time at lunch w/you and carol! glad that you enjoyed the goodies from Canada. I just recently used that Bird’s custard powder (from your eggless bundt cake recipe), finally!

i liked everything except for that gross blue cheese on the cobb salad! i remember having to ask for an extra fork to pick it out!

i remember all of us taking photos of our food then the waitress asked, ‘do you want a picture of all 3 of you?’ and we ALL simultaneously said “NO!” in horror! funny!

    • Hehe, I remember the blue cheese thing. I totally forgot about the waitress asking us if we wanted a picture though. Haha! Thanks for reminding me. She must have thought we were so crazy. Oh I will have to look for those bags next time when I shop there.

  3. Oo looks fun! What’s the yogen fruz candy? I’d love to have a food blogger lunch with you guys sometime, too.

    • The yogen fruz candy was basically little candies that are flavored to taste like frozen yogurt. I’d love to eat with you too! Next time I plan something (though I have to confess, I don’t plan stuff often), I will def include you.

  4. The sushi on the tote looks like spam musubi. I have a spam musubi resuable grocery bag from Foodland (supermarket chain in Hawaii). The grilled salmon salad looks good; I usually end up with the Chinese Chicken salad but I should try something different at the Nordstrom Cafe.

    • It is spam musubi! I don’t know where CC got it from though, but I love it. I really like their grilled sandwiches but it’s a little heavy for a work lunch. I end up in a food coma after.

  5. People who love food always know where to get delicious food 🙂 The sushi tote bag is so fun and totally adorable! Glad to hear you had a lovely time and meal with food blogger friends.

    • All the snacks were great too, but I was totally in love with the tote. Hehee. And yes, it’s definitely fun to eat with people who love food. =)
