Pomegranate Cranberry Cocktails-These red and green cocktails are festive and perfect for a holiday party.

I love the color of these cranberry cocktails and they’re really refreshing. If you want an easy cocktail recipe for a holiday party, these would be perfect. You only need a few ingredients to make them.

I paired the cranberry juice with pomegranate juice for a tart drink. I also use pomegranate seeds as a garnish. They look like little Christmas ornaments in the cocktails. What’s nice about this recipe, is that you can easily adapt it to make different flavored drinks, so be sure to check the variation ideas.

Ingredients

  • Sparkling pomegranate juice
  • Cranberry juice
  • Vodka
  • Fresh mint or basil
  • Pomegranate seeds

Recipe Steps

All you do is combine both kinds of juice with the vodka and stir to combine. Pour over ice in glasses for serving.

You can also fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add the juices, and shake until chilled. Strain the drink into glasses with or without ice.

I like to garnish the drinks with mint leaves or basil and then drop in some pomegranate seeds. You could also garnish the rim with lime wedges or lime slices.

For the glasses, you can use martini glasses (if you do a shaken drink with no ice) or use a highball glass if you want the drink served with ice.

Variations

Alcohol: I like vodka, but you could also make a white rum cranberry cocktail or try gin or whiskey. You could also swap the sparkling juice and vodka for champagne to make cranberry mimosas for brunch. Feel free to adjust the amount to your tastes or you can omit the alcohol.

Sweetness: The drinks have a tart flavor, so if you want more lessen the tartness you can add some simple syrup or swap the cranberry juice with cranapple juice.

Pomegranate: You can leave out the pomegranate and use club soda instead to make a simple cranberry cocktail that’s fizzy.

Other Flavors: You can pair cranberry juice with so many other flavors. Try grapefruit juice, lime juice, orange juice, or other fruit juice that you like.

Notes about Pomegranates

The extra-large pomegranates are finally in season. I stocked up on them while shopping at Costco, which also gave me a chance to try out a new method of deseeding pomegranates which has been all over the internet. I’ve made my own video showing the method.

It really works and I was able to completely de-seed my huge pomegranate in less than 60 seconds. The ruby-red fruit is so pretty, and perfect for these holiday cocktails.

I’ll be making these for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. They’re such an easy drink and perfect for the holiday season. I hope you give them a try, too!
