Stella Jean’s Ice Cream is a new creamery making small batch ice cream that recently opened in San Diego. It is located next to and owned by the owners of Pop Pie Co.
We’ve enjoyed the individual pies and unique flavors of Pop Pie Co., so we were definitely interested in checking out their new venture.
The creamery offers about a dozen flavors, including seasonal flavors and several vegan options. Some of the unique flavor offerings include mango sticky rice, honey rosemary orange zest, and earl grey citrus tea cake.
After a few samples, we chose to share a double scoop.
Earl Grey Citrus Tea Cake and Thai Tea
The citrus tea cake uses butterfly pea tea in the cake to create the purple color.
The super premium ice creams are made with 16% butterfat, creating a very thick and creamy consistency. The waffle cone, which is made in-house, was also quite enjoyable. Light, crispy and not overly sweet.
Overall, we enjoyed the ice creams we ate here and will definitely be back. We like the unique flavor offerings and the thick and creamy consistency of the ice cream. The staff was very friendly and welcoming as well.

we really liked the earl grey citrus flavor and that they allow split scoops. they have a nice selection of flavors. I wish they offered flights though.
I thought about doing the split scoop, but we decided to just go for two full scoops!
