Trader Joe’s November Edition

The most recent Fearless Flyer from Trader Joe’s features quite a few Thanksgiving themed foods.

Soon after reading it, I went over to Trader Joe’s to pick up some things. Unfortunately, they were out of a lot of the side dishes I wanted to try. But I did manage to get a few items on my list, along with a few others I found while browsing around.

Mini Pecan Pies

I love mini things, especially mini pies. They are the perfect size for my household. I was going to heat these up for my mini Thanksgiving run-through, but I ended up making mini pumpkin pies, so these will be eaten on another day.

Pesto Gouda Cheese

I love gouda and I love pesto. So this combination really worked for me. I’ve been slowly nibbling away on it. I plan on using some to make a pesto macaroni and cheese.

Brussels Sprouts Stalk

TJ restocked its Brussels Sprouts stalks! I had gone a few weeks ago and they were all out, but they are featured in the Fearless Flyer. According to the Fearless Flyer, they make a great Thanksgiving centerpiece. You can also roast them whole. I haven’t decided whether to try roasting mine whole or keeping it raw on Thanksgiving day and then removing and roasting the sprouts later.

Speculoos Cookie & Cocoa Swirl

Trader Joe’s came out with this last month, stepping up their regular cookie spread to create a cocoa swirl one. I love how it looks, though taste-wise I actually prefer the regular spread without the cocoa swirl.

Wild Mushroom Brie Cheese

This is creamy and rich. Perfect on crackers and I’m sure many other ways.

Fleur de Sel Caramel Sauce

I really love Trader Joe’s salted caramel sauce. It’s really thick, which is how I like my caramel sauce. I recently used it on my flourless peanut butter mug cake.

Sparkling White Chardonnay Grape Juice

I’m always interested in trying different sparkling juice flavors. I haven’t yet had white chardonnay grape juice flavor. I am saving this bottle for this weekend.

The pecan pie ice cream is also back but I had a few more errands to run and didn’t want it to melt. I’ll be back for it soon though.

Happy Almost Thanksgiving!

  1. I want to get their salted caramel sauce now! I was there last night and was happy that they restocked their pecan pie ice cream (since it’s seasonal), so yay!

  2. Hehe, I love their caramel sauce too. When I’m too lazy to make the caramel that comes with the sweet and salty brownies of Baked Explorations, I just use TJ’s instead. >:D

  3. The triple creamy brie from Trader Joe’s is my all time favorite cheese! I wish I wasn’t so far from one. I need to pick up the brussels sprouts the next time I go that way since I never had fresh ones before only frozen.

  4. The best way I’ve found for Brussels Sprouts is to shred them in the food processor, sautee them with some onion in bacon fat (save the bacon to add back in at the end), and finish with heavy cream. Granted, it completely ruins the nutrition of the sprout, but it’s good!
How were the mini-pies? I’ve never seen pecan pie with a top crust.

    • I’ve seen a couple shredded brussels sprouts recipes I’ve been wanting to try out. Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to eat the pecan pies. I was excited for the double crust though because I love pie crust

  5. My current favorite thing is their pumpkin toaster pastries. I love them! I really wanted to get the mini pecan pies and then I didn’t… but now I think I might go back for some. The mushroom brie is also so so very heavenly. I had some the other day with some bread and that was all I had for dinner (plus a salad to seem healthy after eating all that cheese… mmm).

  6. Holey socks, look at those brussels sprouts!!! AHHH! The other stuff looks good too…but BRUSSELS SPROUTS! 🙂
