3 Ingredient Lemon Fudge (No Dairy or Butter)
This lemon fudge is soft and creamy. It only requires 3 ingredients and doesn’t need any dairy or butter. You also don’t need a candy thermometer or a stove to make it. The fudge takes just a few minutes to prepare.

This easy fudge takes only about 5 minutes to prepare. It has a bright lemony flavor. The texture is soft, creamy and slightly chewy.
Ingredients
- Dairy-free white chocolate
- Sweetened coconut condensed milk
- Lemon zest
Dairy-free white chocolate: This recipe is made with dairy-free white baking chips. The chips are melted until smooth to form the base for the fudge.
Sweetened coconut condensed milk: Sweetened coconut condensed milk is a popular dairy-free condensed milk substitute. When mixed with the melted chocolate, it creates a soft, creamy fudge.
Lemon zest: The fudge gets its lemon flavor from lemon zest. I don’t recommend adding lemon juice to the fudge because it doesn’t mix in well.
How to Make Dairy Free Lemon Fudge
The white chocolate is melted until smooth. The condensed milk and lemon zest are mixed in. The fudge will thicken to a paste-like consistency when the condensed milk is fully incorporated.
Spread the mixture into your prepared pan. Place into the fridge until set. Cut the fudge into small squares with a sharp knife.
Texture
The fudge is soft, creamy and a little chewy.
Expert Tips
- If you don’t need your fudge to be dairy-free, I do have a lemon fudge that doesn’t need dairy-free ingredients.
- Sweetened coconut condensed milk is usually sold at grocery stores and can also be purchased online.
- You can use whatever your favorite brand of dairy-free white chocolate is. I used Enjoy Life brand.
- If you want to increase the lemon flavor, you can add 1-2 drops of lemon extract. I don’t recommend adding lemon juice because it does not incorporate well into the fudge.

3 Ingredient Lemon Fudge
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups (257g) dairy-free white chocolate chips, or 1 (9 oz) bag
- 1/4 cup (68g) sweetened coconut condensed milk, room temperature, see note before starting
- 1 (packed) tsp (2g) lemon zest, approximately the zest of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Line the bottom of a 7 x 3 inch or 8 x 4 inch loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.
- Add white chocolate chips to a large microwave safe mixing bowl. Heat chocolate in 15-30 second intervals, stirring in between with a spatula until chocolate is completely melted. Add in the condensed milk and lemon zest and stir until they are fully incorporated. Your mixture will thicken to a paste-like consistency as the milk gets incorporated. This is normal.
- Transfer the mixture to your lined loaf pan. Use your spatula to spread the fudge mixture evenly across. If desired, you can add a little more lemon zest on top for decoration. Place the fudge into the fridge for 2-4 hours, or until set.
- Cut the fudge into approximate 1-inch squares with a large sharp knife. The fudge is a little chewy and sticky so it is easier to cut it while it is cold rather than letting it come to room temperature. Store uneaten fudge in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.
Notes
- If you want a thicker fudge, use a 7 x 3 inch loaf pan. You can use an 8 x 4 inch loaf pan but the fudge will be quite thin. If you only have a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan, you will want to make 1.5 times the recipe. I tried to make the recipe so that it uses exactly one full bag of chocolate chips. so you don't have to open a second bag.
- Coconut condensed milk note: If you want a fudge with a firmer and less chewy consistency, you can reduce the condensed milk amount to 3 tbsp instead of 1/4 cup. I felt that the fudge wasn't quite as creamy with 3 tbsp and you do need to let the fudge come to room temperature before cutting and serving if you use less condensed milk. I used Nature's Charm sweetened coconut condensed milk*
- Dairy-free white chocolate chips note: I used Enjoy Life white chocolate chips*

Can this be made with regular sweetened condensed milk. Allergic to coconut.
