My cousin and her fiancé recently moved to San Diego and we’ve been trying to take them to all the local favorites when we get together for a meal. Like Carnitas’ Snack Shack. I’ve posted on Carnitas’ Snack Shack quite a few times, so I’ll keep this post short and sweet and focus on the photos.
Fried Chicharróns
Fried pork rinds were paired with a chilled marinara-like sauce. While I enjoyed the crunch, I thought these could have used a bit more seasoning as they tasted quite plain. Also I think these would have paired better with a warm dipping sauce.
Snack Shack Pork Burger
The pork burger here is one of my favorite items. The pretzel bun is sandwiched with a thick, juicy and tender ground pork patty.
Steak Sandwich
Another solid offering here, though the bottom slices of bread were a soggy from all the oil.

Of course, no visit here would be complete without their signature pork belly app. No matter how many times I have it, it’s still my favorite thing to eat here.
Overall, we had another solid meal here. We’ve been coming by a lot more now that they opened this second location which has more seating and an easier parking situation.
