We recently had brunch at Fort Oak, the latest new restaurant from the Trust Restaurant Group, which has already received much critical praise.

I’ve enjoyed the Trust Restaurants Group’s restaurants so far, having dined at both Trust and Hundred Proof a few times. A few weeks ago, we tried brunch at Fort Oak with CC and her husband.

ARTISANAL BREAKFAST PASTRIES
We started with a selection of breakfast pastries, which change daily. On our visit, the assortment included a croissant, blueberry muffin top, brioche, coffee cake, and biscotti.

CHARGER | THUNDERBIRD | SKYLARK
We also indulged in a trio of cocktails.

PORK ROLL EGG & CHEESE
homemade english muffin, fried egg, american cheese, potatoes
An elevated breakfast sandwich. All the elements were well done and I quite enjoyed this. I especially loved the crispy potatoes that it was served with.

CORN BEEF HASH BENEDICT
poached eggs, cabbage, hollandaise, rye panko, potatoes
The corned beef was very tender. This was one of my favorite bites from our brunch.

CHICKEN FRIED QUAIL & FRENCH TOAST
hot honey, date purée, house-cultured butter
The thick slice of French toast was incredibly fluffy and I really enjoyed the fried quail as well. The quail meat was quite moist while the batter was light and crunchy.

FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH
carolina bbq sauce, cabbage, b&b pickles, black pepper aioli, fries
The breading on the chicken was a little too salty and there were almost too many pickles in the sandwich. I felt it was the one weak dish of all the ones we tried.

HOUSE SAUSAGE
The house sausage links were quite generous in size and I loved the flavor.

Overall, we had a lovely brunch at Fort Oak. The food was enjoyable and the service was friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back again. I also am interested in checking out the dinner menu soon.
