A week ago, I read news announcing the release of Wendy’s premium burger which is served on a toasted pretzel bun. I love pretzel buns. I had read a few months ago that Wendy’s would be releasing a pretzel bun burger so as soon as I saw that it was now available, I headed to my local Wendy’s.
The cheeseburger with a single patty is slightly under $5.00. At first, I was a little taken aback about the price, but then when I got home and opened my burger, I could understand it. Not only is the burger served on a toasted pretzel bun, but the inside has bacon, spring greens (instead of iceberg lettuce), Wendy’s famous smokey honey mustard sauce, and fresh onions, tomatoes.
The bun itself was great. It managed to be sturdy enough to hold all the ingredients in and also be soft and fluffy. It had the taste of a soft pretzel, but in a bread roll form. I was tempted just to eat the bun by itself, even though the inside filling was pretty good too, especially with the fresh vegetables and honey mustard.
I’ve actually never been a big Wendy’s cheeseburger person. I love their chicken sandwiches, the chili, fries, Frosty’s, chicken nuggets, but have never particularly cared for their cheeseburger. So I was originally hoping the pretzel bun was being offered with their chicken sandwiches. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed this burger and am happy to see Wendy’s offering a solid pretzel bun.
For those of you complaining, IT IS A FAST FOOD RESTARAUNT. you can’t expect gormet from Wendy’s. Don’t be picky if you eat out.
I went to the Wendy’s at the bert kouns location and it was discusting my burger tasted old my sauce was hot the whole burger tasted as if it was reheated from earlier my bun was dry this is the second time this has happened to me at this location around 6 in the evening the
Darked skinned manager wih braids acted like she didn’t wanna give me my money back and her employees that made the burger were laughing about it they showed poor customer service that pretzel burger was nasty and we got. it through drive thru
That’s too bad. You might want to contact Wendy’s customer service. I’ve seen them respond on twitter and I’m sure there is an email where you can complain about your experience. I’ve always had good experiences at my local one, but I know that it’s hard to keep consistent quality at every single franchise.
I like pretzel rolls as well and although I’m not big on Wendy’s or burgers for that matter, that one actually looks good. Sonic has their pretzel dogs out but I haven’t tried them yet. This pretzel bun craze seems to be sticking around a bit and I hope more companies integrate it.
I love this pretzel bun craze. =)
I ate one of these sandwiches a few days ago, I will not be buying another. The hamburger, cheese and vegetables were acceptable. I asked for the sauce on the side, that did not happen. The main problem , for me, was the bun. It was tasteless and did not remotely resemble pretzel buns I have eaten at higher level restaurants. I was very disappointed over all. A bad bun bun pretty much ruins what should be a ver good sandwich. This product was not even close. JMHO.
So sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I loved my bun! You should complain to Wendy’s customer service so that they change it!
