Have a bag of rice in the pantry and need some inspiration for what to serve it with? We love to make dinner recipes with rice and so I’ve gathered up some of my favorite dishes to share. There are some take-out inspired ones, meal prep ideas, and other creative ways to use rice to make dinner.
Enchilada Rice Casserole | Enchilada rice casserole is a comforting and easy dinner. Flavorful rice is baked with all of your favorite enchilada fillings like chicken, cheese, black beans, and enchilada sauce. It’s a great make-ahead dinner for busy nights.
Chinese Fried Rice | This is one of my favorite rice dishes to make when I want something quick and easy. I’ve been making it for years and you can easily customize it with different proteins like chicken, ham, or BBQ pork.

Chicken Teriyaki Pineapple Bowls | Kick things up a notch by serving chicken teriyaki in hollowed-out pineapples. It’s such a fun way to serve it!
Salmon with Mango Salsa | This is an easy 30-minute dinner that’s light and flavorful. I like to serve the salmon and salsa over a bed of brown rice. It’s a great summer dinner.
Thai Pineapple Fried Rice | This Thai fried rice is just like a restaurant version and served in pineapples, too. It’s so easy to make at home.
Chicken Teriyaki Rice Burritos | These Asian-inspired burritos are very easy to make and a fun twist on traditional burritos.
Korean Beef Bowls | These bowls have thinly sliced marinated beef, vegetables, served over brown rice. I make this recipe for meal prep because it keeps really well.
Mongolian Beef | Another meal prep recipe I love are these Mongolian beef bowls. They’re a lightened-up version and easy to make.
Garlic Beef and Broccoli | Tender beef and broccoli served over rice is a quick and easy dinner that is healthier than take-out.
Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry | Whenever I make stir fry, I always make a big batch of rice to go with it and this chicken and broccoli version is one of my favorites.
Baked General Tso’s Chicken | If you love take-out you have to try this easy recipe. It’s lighter than take-out and perfect with some rice on the side.
Instant Pot Honey Garlic Chicken | Chicken breast cubes are coated in a flavorful honey garlic sauce for an easy meal that is cooked in the Instant Pot and ready in less than 30 minutes.
Orange Garlic Cauliflower | Crispy, panko-coated baked cauliflower is coated in an orange-scented garlic sauce. Pile it on white or brown rice for a delicious dinner.
Crispy Baked Garlic Tofu | Tofu is baked until crispy and then tossed in a thick, Chinese-style stir-fry garlic sauce.
Kung Pao Shrimp | This take out favorite is easy to make at home – add a side of rice to make it complete.
Honey Sriracha Chicken | This dish is inspired by orange chicken but with a spicy kick. Serve it with rice to soak up all that flavorful sauce.
Orange Chicken | Just like the restaurant versions and perfect served over a bed of white rice. If you don’t want to do any frying, I also have an Instant Pot version.
